Birungi Katherine Bagenda

Birungi Katherine Bagenda has a solid and competent twenty years’ experience in Financial Services with exposure to developed and emerging markets. She began her career in the United States working for some of the largest financial institutions. She worked with Mellon Trust (before its merger with Bank of New York), managing a portfolio of assets in excess of $2 billion for the Custodian Bank. Birungi also had exposure to the Investment Management side working for Deutsche Bank. Later she was directly involved in the Deutsche Bank Asset Management-State Street Conversion of $2.5 billion in global assets and, during this conversion, was employed by another global leader in asset management, State Street Bank. Birungi’s last assignment in the US before she moved to Uganda was managing High Net-worth individual investment accounts with a minimum asset value of $0.5 million with Bank of America. When Birungi moved to Uganda she was hired by Stanbic Bank to establish the Bank’s Investor Services. Later she introduced Orient Bank’s High Net Worth Banking department and offering. Birungi holds a BA (Honours) Business and Law from Southampton Institute/Nottingham Trent University, England and is a British/Ugandan Citizen.
