Carolyne Sigei

Co-founder

Carolyne Sigei  has over 10 years’ experience in lending and investment working with both corporates and SMEs. Carolyne started out her career working for a government parastatal, the Youth Enterprise Development Fund, a financial inclusion program focused on unlocking capital to the Kenyan youth. While at the fund Carolyne was involved in economically empowering Kenyan youth and SMEs through lending, entrepreneurial training and provision of business advisory services. The funding model at the Youth Fund was a mix of impact and developmental investing. Later she joined Business Partners International Ltd and was responsible for identifying, evaluating and closing transactions (debt and quasi-equity) for Business Partners in Kenya with a primary focus to improve access to finance for SMEs. Business Partners is a sector agnostic risk financier and Carolyne gained exposure to multiple sectors in manufacturing, health care, education and professional services among others. Carolyne holds an MBA-Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi, Bachelor of Commerce-Finance from the University of Nairobi, and is also a CPA (K). She is also currently pursuing an Msc. in Development Finance from Strathmore Business School.
